Program Coordinator/Strategic Advisor

24–32 hours per week

Smoking is one of the leading causes of health disparities. While more and more people are quitting smoking, this is not the case for those in less favorable socioeconomic circumstances. They benefit less from preventive measures and support for quitting smoking. In the Neighborhood Approach to Smoking Cessation program, we collaborate with public health departments, social sector professionals, and community experts to foster meaningful conversations about smoking, provide better support for quitting, and create a smoke-free world for children to grow up in. Naturally, we do this with an eye toward and in conjunction with any other issues affecting the neighborhood. We are looking for a program coordinator/strategic advisor to lead this new program with a small team of advisors and in close collaboration with GGD GHOR Netherlands.

What does your day look like?

• You will coordinate the program, liaise with partners, and, together with Pharos’ team of (senior) consultants and project managers, create a stimulating learning environment for the professionals and community experts who will be working in the neighborhoods.
• You will provide results-oriented guidance to the program team from Pharos, based on clear expectations and frameworks, and by inspiring, motivating, and supporting them as a collaborative advisor.

You will report to the Program Manager for Person-Centered Care and Support.

Are you our ideal candidate?

• You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• You have experience managing a team and overseeing financial and business processes;
• You have experience facilitating change processes and guiding collaboration among local partners, for example within a public health department or a large municipality;
• You know how to translate strategic themes and assignments into practical applications and professional practice;
• You are socially aware and have an interest in the issue of health disparities;
• You have a knack for getting things off the ground quickly, coordinating projects, and seeing them through to completion.

• Pharos adheres to the Mental Health Care Collective Bargaining Agreement. The position is classified in pay scale 65, which ranges from €4,381 to €5,734 based on a 36-hour workweek. Pay is determined based on experience.
• An 8% vacation bonus and an 8.33% year-end bonus
• Remote work: At Pharos, we work from home an average of 50% of the time. You will receive a travel allowance and a work-from-home allowance.
• A net phone allowance of €25 per month.

The position is generally for 24–32 hours per week, for one year, with the possibility of extension.
