Podium—HU’s student cultural platform—organizes high-profile cultural and debate programs on topics that matter. In doing so, Podium contributes to the personal development and sense of community among the widest possible group of HU students, HU staff, and all other interested parties. The programs are co-organized by student assistants, who develop their skills at Podium to become program creators or program promoters. They know exactly what matters to students and ensure the programs align with their experiences.
Podium isn’t tied to a single physical location for its activities; instead, it moves like a nomad, visiting exciting venues and partners in Utrecht, Amersfoort, and the surrounding area. From movie nights to theater outings, from educational programs to social debates, from pub quizzes to podcasts: Podium offers it all. About 55 live events are organized each year, in addition to about 20 podcast or video productions. One-third of the programming is in English and aimed at international students.
