Production Manager (m/f/n)

DOX is looking for a new Production Manager (m/f/n)0.8–1 FTE

As a production manager, you’ll play a central role in a small organization and be responsible for the production aspects of our shows. You’ll report directly to the lead production manager. DOX is the premier talent development hub for creators and performers from diverse (sub)cultures. In January 2021, DOX joined the BIS (multi-year Basic Infrastructure Grant) program. Crossovers between theater and dance are our specialty, and urban arts such as spoken word and hip-hop serve as sources of inspiration. Annually, we produce approximately five (co-)productions, undertake various research projects, and offer an ongoing talent development program called DOX Club. We operate out of Theaterhuis de Berenkuil, a vibrant cultural hub with a team of 16 passionate DOX staff members.

What you do:

•  Once the artistic plans and budgets are finalized, you, as the production manager, will take the lead in bringing these plans to fruition;
• You produce new productions or revivals, residencies, and/or one-day events;
• You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the production process. You will perform production-related tasks during rehearsals, set-ups, and in connection with performances on tour or on location;
• You monitor progress, identify any bottlenecks, and take action as needed;
• You monitor and manage the budget within a predetermined financial framework, making adjustments as needed;
• You will coordinate the team’s work and ensure collaboration among designers, technicians, and creators, among others;
• You are responsible for the administration, filing, and proper completion of production runs
• You build strong relationships with the cast and crew, and they see you as their first point of contact and go-to source for information, guidance, and assistance.

What you're capable of:

• You’re good at organizing and planning, have an eye for people and details, and you don’t get flustered easily;
• You have a flexible, helpful attitude and take a solution-oriented approach;
• You have strong communication skills in group settings and are a team player;
• You have knowledge of and/or an interest in theater and similar art forms;
• You have experience with office software such as Office, Word, and Excel;
• You have a driver's license.
