This position offers you the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the further development of our (legal) processes and systems, and to have a direct impact on the operations of the NVWA.
As a Product Owner, you’ll have the unique opportunity to delve into the operational and tactical challenges of a dynamic organization. You’ll play a crucial role in translating business needs into concrete solutions for applications and other IT projects.
The Legal Affairs Division (JZ) has identified the further digitization and optimization of its core processes as one of its key priorities for the coming years. A top priority in this regard is the continued development of crucial IT infrastructure systems such as the Case Resolution System (BVA) and the Objections and Appeals System (BVBB). As Product Owner, you are the driving force behind these essential applications, which support the NVWA in carrying out its supervisory and enforcement activities effectively and in a legally sound manner. In addition to these core applications, you will also be responsible for representing JZ in other IT developments within the NVWA, in which your department is a key stakeholder. A key aspect of this role is ensuring that JZ’s applications are properly integrated with other NVWA applications and the data warehouse (the NVWA-wide data repository), including the desired translation into management information in dashboards.
Developing a vision and roadmap: You will devise the future strategy for the BVA, BVBB, and other IT initiatives. Together with the business owner, business information manager, business analysts, and JZ managers, you will draw up a solid long-term plan. In doing so, you will always take into account the strategic objectives and the (compliance) frameworks of the Dutch government.
Backlog Management: As Product Owner, you are ultimately responsible for the product backlog of the BVA and the BVBB. You translate stakeholder requirements into clear tasks and ensure that the backlog is properly prioritized. You do this in collaboration with sub-PO’s (DPOs) and super users.
Collaboration with development teams: You will work closely with the delivery manager and serve as the point of contact for the development teams. You will ensure the smooth planning and implementation of new features by actively participating in Scrum sessions, planning meetings, and refinement sessions.
Implementation and Progress: Together with the delivery manager and development teams, you are responsible for delivering new features and services. You maintain a balance between ongoing development and stable service delivery, ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
Official position: Within the Legal Affairs Division, under the leadership of Division Head Jaap Roording, who is also the JZ IV Business Owner.
Collaboration with IT experts: The JZ Division is part of the Strategy Department, and you will work alongside the Business Implementation Manager (BIM) and three Business Analysts (BAs), among others, within a growing team of IT specialists.
Strategic portfolio management: As JZ PO, you are responsible for the progress of the JZ IV/ICT/Data portfolio and coordinate with the JZ IV/ICT/Data Steering Committee (of which you are a full member).
