With your expertise and vision, you are the key link that brings HR policy to life within the organization and makes a real impact. We are seeking an HR Policy Advisor for the HR department at the Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK).
As an experienced HR policy advisor, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR policies at the tactical level, providing input for strategic policy, and advising management. In a rapidly evolving organization where collaboration and development are central, you will make a substantive and unifying contribution to topics such as organizational development, sustainable employability, social safety, and leadership. You will work closely with colleagues on the HR team and other internal stakeholders. In doing so, you will serve as a sparring partner for management and the Executive Board.
What will you be doing?
- You will develop and implement organization-wide HR policies that align with the strategy, set us apart, and respond to trends and future developments.
- You bridge the gap between policy and practice by leading the implementation process alongside HR colleagues, acting as a project manager or coordinator for policy and change initiatives.
- You monitor legal frameworks and translate laws and regulations into up-to-date, future-proof HR policies and related processes.
- You will coordinate communication with employee representative bodies and labor unions and advise HR colleagues and the organization on a wide range of HR and change management issues.
- You will lead and ensure the proper implementation of key HR processes, such as the employee survey, and drive innovation by leveraging systems and new technologies wherever possible.
What are you bringing?
- You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree and 5–8 years of relevant work experience in HR policy development and consulting, preferably in a complex (educational) environment.
- You have strong analytical skills and are skilled with numbers and business management issues.
- Project management and translating policy into practical solutions are your strengths. You are able to clearly translate complex issues related to employment conditions and labor law into understandable advice that can be put into practice.
- You excel at stakeholder management and building relationships at various levels. You are empathetic and have a keen understanding of organizational dynamics.
- You have a proactive and solution-oriented approach, with a keen eye for detail. And, of course, you have an excellent command of Dutch and English.
