We are currently seeking a: Public Relations Officer (0.8 FTE/30 hours)
What will you be doing?
- You write and distribute interesting press releases and news articles for the media and the public.
- You will analyze current issues and write persuasive opinion pieces to share our organization’s views.
- You respond quickly to news and arrange interviews to share our message.
- You train colleagues to communicate effectively with the media.
- You will support spokespersons during media appearances and help them reinforce our message.
What are you bringing?
- At least 3 years of work experience as a press officer or journalist.
- Your Dutch is perfect, and you have excellent writing skills.
- The ability to collaborate effectively and integrate perspectives from different disciplines.
- You are independent, assertive, and take the initiative to seize media opportunities.
- You are willing to work in the office at least two days a week and outside of regular office hours when current events require it.
Who do you work with?
You will be part of the Public Relations team. Together with subject matter experts, the executive board, and your fellow public relations officers, you will be responsible for media communications. You will provide support to various departments within our organization. In addition, you will work closely with the online team.
What do we offer?
- A one-year contract with the option to extend.
- A salary ranging from €3,315 to €4,455 for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience. At Milieudefensie, this is a 37.5-hour workweek.
- A temporary gross allowance of €100 for full-time employees (this allowance will remain in effect until the new job and pay structure is implemented).
- Your own laptop that you take home with you every day, so you can work from home as well.
- The ability to arrange your work hours flexibly.
- The option to exchange (Christian) holidays for other holidays.
- A casual and open work environment with enthusiastic colleagues.
- A sufficient travel allowance, work-from-home allowance, and leave policy.
