HR Advisor

The Centraal Museum is seeking a human resources advisor for 28 to 32 hours per week.

As an HR Advisor at the Centraal Museum, you will provide broad support in the field of HR. You will be responsible for both developing and implementing HR policy. You will serve as an advisor to the Management Team and play a key role in organizational development. You will advise managers on recruitment, career progression, and turnover within their departments. If you are eager to contribute to the further development of key HR topics such as onboarding, employee branding, sustainable employability, Management Development, Diversity & Inclusion, and the development of new work processes for the HR Department, we would love to hear from you.

This is the work

  • You will serve as the primary point of contact for HR matters for the executive board, managers, and the works council;
  • Provide HR advice to managers and inform employees about matters such as terms of employment, personnel policies, and the Museum Collective Bargaining Agreement;
  • Overseeing HR policy by keeping the Employee Handbook, pay scales/salary structure, and related communications up to date;
  • Identify employee-led development initiatives and training opportunities, translate them into a training plan, and monitor its implementation;
  • Handling HR administration for the permanent staff, assisting managers in drafting job postings and conducting interviews;
  • Advise the management team on opportunities for improvement in the area of HR and translate these into concrete policies, actions, and/or improvement proposals;
  • Monitor compliance with the Gatekeeper Improvement Act and provide support to employees on (long-term) sick leave in consultation with managers;
  • Contributing ideas on how to make our HR policies more accessible and relevant via SharePoint;
  • Contribute to the occupational health and safety policy by participating in the occupational health and safety team.

Role within the organization

Human Resources is part of the Operations Department; you will work closely with your HR colleague and the payroll administrator.

What you bring

  • 3 years of experience as an HR consultant or senior HR specialist
  • An HR degree at the associate's or bachelor's level
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with people at various levels both within and outside the organization
  • You are organized and proactive
  • You have experience with HR/payroll software (experience with NMBR is a plus) and MS Office;
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and, if possible, in English;
  • You have a flexible and service-oriented attitude;
  • You can work independently.

Our employment terms and conditions

The Centraal Museum offers competitive terms of employment in accordance with the Museum Collective Labor Agreement. The position is classified in pay grade 10, depending on your education and experience (this translates to a gross salary of €3,208 to €4,196 based on a 36-hour workweek); the pension plan is administered by the ABP. Initially, a one-year employment contract will be offered, with the prospect of permanent employment if you prove to be a suitable candidate.
