We are currently looking for a: Youth Organizer (0.8 FTE – 30 hours)
What will you be doing?
- You will serve as an ambassador for Fair Future Generators, Milieudefensie’s community service program, and help get young people (ages 18–30) excited about it.
- You take the initiative and organize inspiring events for and with young people.
- You are looking for projects within Milieudefensie and other organizations in the climate movement where young people can develop their talents.
- You’ll ensure that young people want to stay involved with Milieudefensie after participating in Fair Future Generators, for example through Milieudefensie Jong or a local group.
- Together with your colleagues in the movement-building team, you’ll work to build a climate movement that everyone can join, regardless of background, education, age, or sexual orientation.
- You serve as the link between the Fair Future program and the campaign. In this role, you will regularly work on various projects and initiatives within the movement-building department.
What are you bringing?
- You have experience engaging and connecting (young) volunteers, working with volunteer groups, and driving change within a group setting.
- You can think strategically and analytically about the role of (young) volunteers in Milieudefensie’s work and campaigns.
- You’re good at collaborating, listening, and inspiring others to take action.
- You are able to plan and organize your own work effectively, maintain an overview of teamwork, and stay focused on your various tasks.
- You have a flexible attitude, a hands-on approach, and are willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Experience in engaging specific target groups, such as religious youth or LGBTQI+ individuals, is a plus.
Who do you work with?
You will work closely with your colleagues in the Exercise Development and Communications teams and report to one of the team leaders in the Exercise Development department.

- A one-year contract with the option to extend.
- A salary ranging from €3,144 to €4,837 for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience. At Milieudefensie, this is a 37.5-hour workweek.
