We are looking for someone with a strong personality who enjoys taking the lead but is also a good listener. In the coming years, health and healthy aging will play an increasingly important role in our work. As a community organizer, you’ll play a key role in these priority areas and help residents and partners in the neighborhood bring initiatives in this field to fruition.

Who are we looking for?

An enthusiastic and flexible doer and thinker, skilled at supporting, guiding, and motivating residents and resident groups from diverse (cultural) backgrounds in community-focused initiatives.
A colleague with a college-level education and work experience, who has experience organizing and chairing resident meetings.
Someone who helps residents recognize and harness their own strengths: our colleague coaches residents to advocate for their own interests and work together to create livable and socially resilient neighborhoods. The team uses the “Community Development in Essence” framework as a guide for its work.
A colleague with knowledge and experience in community-based work in the social sector and in involving other professional partners in the community in your work.
Preferably someone with a culturally diverse background and knowledge of different cultures.
Knowledge of the topics of “aging well” and “health” is a plus.

What skills do you need?

Independence: You are highly capable of working independently and can effectively take responsibility for your own work;
Creativity: you combine a variety of methods to engage residents;
Networking: You easily connect with others and build and leverage a diverse network of residents and professionals;
Planning: You can easily manage multiple tasks at the same time;
Organization: You are good at assessing what is needed to carry out a plan and help residents organize ongoing or one-time activities and events.
