Online Editor
FunX brings social issues into the open and keeps young people up to date on the latest trends, music, and culture. We’re looking for an Online Editor who speaks the language of our target audience, lives and breathes the online world, and creates stories that resonate. You’ll produce a variety of online content, from incisive news articles to creative cross-media formats, and elevate the journalistic quality of our site to the next level.
At FunX, you’ll have the freedom to experiment, come up with new formats, and create content that resonates with our community. It’s all about boldness, relevance, and authentic stories.
What are your job responsibilities?
- Writing articles for FunX.nl: from in-depth interviews and feature stories to the latest music news;
- You know the principles of journalism; they’re top of mind in everything you do;
- Transforming radio, podcast, YouTube, and social media content into online stories that resonate.
- Fact-checking and verifying the quality of sources; you ensure that what we publish is accurate;
- Using social media strategically to share our content and engage our community.
- You will proactively contribute ideas to FunX’s online content strategy and oversee its implementation;
- Keeping up with trends, social issues, and developments within our target audience;
- Actively contribute to the online editorial team; you proactively pitch content ideas and come up with creative angles.
What are we looking for?
- You know what's going on among young people in the city and have an affinity with our target audience;
- You write fluently, carefully, and in a journalistic style, using the appropriate FunX tone of voice;
- You live online and are well-versed in social media, music, and culture;
- You are curious, critical, and not afraid to ask questions;
- You are socially conscious and respect diversity;
- You are a team player, but you are also able to work independently and take the initiative;
- You are flexible and willing to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends from time to time;
- Experience creating social media content is a plus;
- Experience as an online editor or journalist is a plus.
