The Online Marketer is part of the marketing and communications team within the Public Affairs Department, an enthusiastic and experienced team that offers plenty of room for personal initiative. The position reports to the Head of Public Affairs.
Teylers Museum is the oldest museum in the Netherlands. It is a unique 18th-century institution of learning, housed in its original building. The museum is the place to marvel at art and science and boasts a fascinating collection of fossils, minerals, books, coins, medals, scientific instruments, paintings, and drawings of international significance. We organize diverse and successful exhibitions, ranging from Leonardo da Vinci up to Dinomakers, from Bird Beauty to Hockney’s Eye. For the past year, visitors have also been able to tour the beautifully restored home of the museum’s founder, Pieter Teyler.

The Online Marketer is part of the marketing and communications team within the Public Affairs Department, an enthusiastic and experienced team that offers plenty of room for personal initiative. The position reports to the Head of Public Affairs.
Your main responsibilities will include: developing, monitoring, optimizing, and advising on the online content strategy · identifying trends and developments in the field of online marketing · creating (or commissioning) written and audio-visual content (this is a key part of the role) · managing the Content Management System (CMS) · providing webcare and coordinating first-line responses · inspiring and advising management and employees regarding online communications and social media use · initiating, devising, executing, and monitoring (paid) online campaigns · in the coming period, you will work as part of a project team on the new website, which is scheduled to launch at the end of 2023.
A dynamic workplace in the heart of Haarlem as part of a talented team · The opportunity to contribute ideas and help build the museum’s new website (scheduled for launch in early 2024) · The opportunity to develop your skills through participation in (international) conferences, for example · A position for 32–36 hours per week, with appropriate terms of employment in accordance with the Museum Collective Labor Agreement · The position is classified in pay grade 9 (a salary between €3,087 and €4,041 gross per month based on a full-time (36-hour) workweek). This includes the nominal increase of €100 gross effective July 1, 2023 · Initially, a one-year employment contract will be offered, with the prospect of permanent employment if the candidate proves suitable.
