Nieuwsuur delivers independent, impartial, and unbiased investigative journalism. In doing so, we provide in-depth analysis of the day’s news. We dig deep to uncover the forces behind the scenes and bring to light what would otherwise remain hidden.  

 At Nieuwsuur, we are looking for an Investigative Journalist (m/f/x) to start on January 1, 2025, working 36 hours per week

Here's what you'll be doing:

• Together with your colleagues, you will develop and produce newsworthy investigative stories for all of Nieuwsuur’s platforms; 
• You develop storylines, write copy, conduct interviews, and consult with colleagues in the graphics department; 
• You prepare studio interviews related to your topic; 
• You have plenty of original ideas of your own, maintain and expand your network, and have a knack for spotting news stories; 
• You can explain your research in the studio, or you may be interested in learning more about it. 

This is you:

• You have proven experience in investigative journalism; experience in television production is a plus.  
• You have a good understanding of current events, politics, and society, and you have a network; 
• You are creative and original, have a flexible work ethic, perseverance, and a sense of humor; 
• You can work at different paces, whether it’s stories that require patience or the faster, more revealing kind; 
• Experience with research tools such as WOO, data journalism, or OSINT is a plus. 

Here's what we offer:

A contract through December 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension. Depending on knowledge and experience, this position is compensated within salary grade H of the broadcasting collective bargaining agreement. The other terms and conditions of employment also comply with the collective bargaining agreement for broadcasting personnel.
