HKU is the largest university of the arts in the Netherlands, with over 4,000 students. HKU Games is the school where games take center stage as an art form, a design discipline, and a way of viewing the world. Students are trained to become game designers with artistic skills through the Game Art, Game Design, and Game Development programs.

And where you, as an Educational Producer, support and enable that energy. You don’t have to be a gamer, but you do understand why people stay up all night for it.

What will you be doing?

As an Education Producer, you are responsible for organizing internal and external educational events within HKU Games. This includes:

• Open houses, job shadowing days, and information sessions;
• Orientation Week and the Freshman Ceremony;
• Internship Fair, Global Game Jam, and showcases;
• Exposure and the graduation ceremony.

For each event, you determine what’s needed and make sure everything runs smoothly. That means:

• Develop and monitor project plans, budgets, and schedules;
• Consulting with faculty, students, and various departments regarding content and practical implementation;
• Arranging venues, catering, materials, decorations, and promotional materials (either in-house or outsourced);
• Evaluate and report on organizational performance.

This position involves busy periods around major events, interspersed with quieter times. You will work closely with the relevant staff members at the school.

What do you bring to the table?

We are looking for someone with proven organizational skills, who can inspire others, and who is confident and self-assured. You’ll recognize these qualities in yourself:

• You have experience organizing events or projects. How you gained that experience is less important than what you can do with it;
• You work proactively: you don’t wait for someone to ask you; you identify issues and take action;
• You can easily switch between the big picture and the details, from strategy to finding the right chair for the right spot;
• You communicate clearly, in Dutch or English, both verbally and in writing;
• You’re flexible: peak times, occasional evening or weekend shifts are part of the job, and that’s no problem for you;
• An interest in education, the arts, or the creative sector is a plus but not a requirement;
• It's handy to have a Class B driver's license.

What do we offer?

• Salary based on Scale 9 of the CAO-HBO collective bargaining agreement: €3,502.78 – €5,154.67 gross per month for full-time employment, excluding vacation pay (8%) and year-end bonus (8.3%). Your starting salary will depend on your education and experience;
