You’re the kind of person who makes an open house feel like a warm welcome, not just a tour. You care deeply about ensuring that students remember their graduation ceremony as a moment that truly matters. At HKU Games, we’re looking for an Educational Producer who loves to organize, from the big picture down to the last badge. Someone who stays calm when things get busy, who can seamlessly coordinate between faculty, students, and external partners, and who understands that a well-organized event makes all the difference.
HKU is the largest university of the arts in the Netherlands, with over 4,000 students. HKU Games is the school where games take center stage as an art form, a design discipline, and a way of viewing the world. Students are trained to become game designers with artistic skills through the Game Art, Game Design, and Game Development programs.
It’s an environment where creativity and craftsmanship come together, where students and instructors work passionately on something that matters. And where you, as an Educational Producer, support and enable that energy. You don’t have to be a gamer, but you do understand why people stay up all night for it.
As an Education Producer, you are responsible for organizing internal and external educational events within HKU Games. This includes:
For each event, you determine what’s needed and make sure everything runs smoothly. That means:
This position involves busy periods around major events, interspersed with quieter times. You will work closely with the relevant staff members at the school.
We are looking for someone with proven organizational skills, who can inspire others, and who is confident and self-assured. You’ll recognize these qualities in yourself:
We believe it is important that everyone feels welcome and valued. We believe that diversity enhances creativity and strive to bring together the diverse perspectives and experiences from society within our organization. We actively take steps to promote diversity and inclusion and collaborate with organizations that support us in this effort. In addition, we organize (internal) events and gatherings during Keti Koti, International Women’s Day, and participate in Pride Utrecht.
Send us your resume and your answers to the three questions below. You don’t need to write a cover letter. We’d rather read in your own words what you bring to the table than a formal letter that you could just as easily have written for ten other job openings.
Write the way you speak. That's all you need to do.
The position is being advertised both internally and externally. In the event of equal qualifications, internal candidates will be given priority.
Recruitment agencies are asked to refrain from contacting us regarding this job opening.
