With over 4,000 students, HKU is the largest university of the arts in the Netherlands and one of the largest educational institutions in Europe focused on art, culture, and the creative industries. HKU offers a wide range of programs across nine schools. HKU’s mission is “to provide and organize excellent arts education and arts research that has meaning and impact on people and society.”
HKU Games
At HKU Games, the art of games takes center stage. Games are the most complex, engaging, and modern art form in existence—one that cannot exist without a player. Games have the power to transform and make an impact on individuals, the professional field, and society. We train our students to become designers of games with artistic quality, offering the following programs: Game Art, Game Design, and Game Development (within the CMGT bachelor’s program).
