The Limelight Foundation is looking for an office manager.

The Limelight Foundation is committed to fostering a strong and free information ecosystem in the digital age. We fund and support journalistic and civil society organizations in Europe that focus on:

  • producing and making available independent, high-quality information.
  • providing the tools and infrastructure that help journalism and civil society organizations achieve their mission (e.g., legal assistance, digital security support, or tools for building and analyzing large datasets).
  • strengthening democratic rights and principles in the digital context. Examples include: freedom of expression on the internet, as well as online privacy and security.

Limelight Foundation is an independent, private philanthropic foundation. We are a young organization, founded in March 2021. Limelight Foundation has a three-member board and currently employs two staff members: the director and a program manager. To provide our current and future partners with the best possible support in achieving their goals, we are seeking an office manager to join our team.

What will you be doing?

As an office manager, you’re the driving force behind the scenes: you ensure that our young organization runs like a well-oiled machine, so that the director and program manager can do their jobs effectively. You juggle many tasks at once: managing calendars, drafting and filing contracts, arranging tickets and hotels for international trips, welcoming new colleagues, and helping to organize events. Furthermore, we’re truly a startup, so there’s still a lot to build and streamline. As an office manager, you’ll identify what’s needed to make the day-to-day operations of our organization run more smoothly and take the initiative to make it happen. This includes efficiently collecting and managing all our contacts in one central location, handling the technical aspects of online meetings with large groups, or automating the sending of large numbers of invitations.

Who are you?

  • You have a bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of work experience.
  • You are an enthusiastic person with excellent organizational skills and strong social and communication skills (in Dutch and English).
  • You are proactive, a team player, and solution-oriented. You work meticulously, methodically, and independently. You thrive in a small team and enjoy helping to build a young organization. You’re comfortable with the fact that you won’t be handed everything on a silver platter.
  • You enjoy keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly. You also enjoy taking on new office projects and seeing them through to a successful conclusion on your own. You’re not afraid to use handy apps and tools to help you do that.
  • You are proficient in Word and Excel
  • An interest in journalism and social engagement is a plus.
