More about this organization
A group of five colleagues is working together around a table with colored Post-it notes in a modern office.

The largest Dutch cities (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, and Eindhoven) offer an attractive business environment, are brimming with entrepreneurial spirit, and boast a rich diversity of cultural backgrounds. As a (Senior) New Business Banker, you will play a key role in strengthening Rabobank’s position within urban entrepreneurial communities.

You & Your Role

As a New Business Banker, you are the commercial force with initiative and an entrepreneurial spirit. You create your own opportunities, actively build new client relationships, and move naturally within urban networks. You are visible in both online and offline communities, understand cultural differences, and know how to connect in diverse environments. By paying attention to the specific challenges and needs of different target groups, you build lasting relationships and offer tailored banking solutions by financing new clients. You serve as the bridge between Rabobank and entrepreneurs who are not yet familiar with us.

You speak the language of young, urban entrepreneurs and know how to naturally

You know how to connect with their world. You’re confident in charting your own course, yet you also know when to collaborate with colleagues and how to rally people internally to make an impact together.

Your strong drive and ability to think and act outside the box make you a valuable driver of growth in the city.

What will you be doing?

  • You take the initiative in generating new business: you create your own opportunities and independently seek out possibilities both within and outside your network, particularly in untapped entrepreneurial communities.
  • Drive commercial growth by identifying opportunities and risks and independently processing financing applications within the SME segment.
  • You have a strong commercial drive, want to grow alongside your team and clients, and think outside the box.
  • You also recognize opportunities for others and pass on qualified leads to departments such as Private Banking and Financial Advisory.

As a New Business Banker, you are part of Rabobank’s future

You’ll be working at the heart of urban entrepreneurial communities and making a direct contribution to commercial growth. You’ll be part of a dedicated team of specialists that capitalizes on the city’s unique commercial opportunities, while keeping in mind the specific challenges faced by diverse groups of entrepreneurs and (start-up) companies.

You will become part of the regional SME team in one of the five cities and of an overarching “urban growth” community of approximately 25 FTEs. Together, we will build a stronger position for Rabobank in the city.

We are conducting a centralized recruitment drive for 9 New Business Banker positions, including 4 SME entry-level advisors and 5 SME senior advisors, distributed across the 5 cities mentioned above. Please note that you must reside in or near the region where you wish to be assigned. When applying, please indicate which role and which city you are applying for.

As a Junior SME Advisor, your focus is on acquiring new clients—both startups and young entrepreneurs—and you are the key driver of growth within the SME segment. In addition, you naturally serve as a strategic partner in the area of financing; the role of Senior SME Advisor, on the other hand, revolves around securing appropriate financing for existing and potential clients. You are the connecting link in the network and the intermediary market, using your knowledge and experience to quickly provide the right solutions for entrepreneurs with financing needs. Whether you thrive on attracting new clients (junior) or excel at securing impactful financing (senior), together we ensure that SMEs in the Netherlands can grow and flourish.

Together, we can achieve more than we could on our own

We believe in the power of diversity. It is precisely by bringing together people’s unique talents, backgrounds, and perspectives that we become an even better bank. We are therefore eager to see what you can bring to our New Business Bankers team.

“When you’re given an opportunity, you have to seize it. In this role, you can really make a difference for entrepreneurs who aren’t yet familiar with Rabobank.”

- Ronald van Raaij, Regional Director for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises -

Work on yourself and the world around you at the same time

For us, your personal development and the development of society go hand in hand. That’s why we want to invest in you and work together to build a better world. We sum it up in one sentence: “At Rabobank, you work on yourself and the world around you at the same time.” This is reflected in your personal development budget, our hybrid work environment, and a healthy work-life balance. In addition, you can work on banking matters for our personal and business clients, as well as on social issues such as financial well-being and sustainable living.

Why everyone is welcome at Rabobank

At Rabobank, we are convinced that diversity is our greatest strength. By combining our diverse backgrounds and skills, we create an environment where we bring out the best in ourselves and each other. We seek that diversity in areas such as knowledge, expertise, and experience, as well as in gender, background, and culture. In every department, we strive for diversity and the freedom to be yourself, whoever you are. That is what diversity and inclusion at Rabobank are all about.
