The position

The Rijksmuseum’s team of museum educators is tasked with establishing a connection to

to foster a connection between visitors, Dutch art and history, and

the social issues that are on visitors' minds today. This

We do this by offering interactive tours.

Your duties will include conducting these tours for

groups of up to 15 visitors (adults, families, and

(students) using existing manuals.

Key elements include storytelling, setting the stage, and guiding

from actively listening to a conversation or discussion, to encouraging good

observing, offering constructive criticism, discussing emotions, asking questions, and

supervising creative projects. We are preferably looking for colleagues who

are available on Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday.

What we are asking for

• You have demonstrable, broad

knowledge of and interest in art and history.

• You're good at putting yourself in someone else's shoes

our diverse audience and is happy to strike up a conversation with

different groups.

• You have teaching

skills you’ve developed through your studies, volunteer work, or on the job.

• You handle busy situations well

and stress, and always knows how to put people at ease.

• You have good verbal communication skills

Proficiency in Dutch and English. Proficiency in another

What we offer

• A salary of at least 2,727

€ and up to €3,489 gross per month based on a 36-hour workweek (scale 8).
