Are you an expert in networking and IT infrastructure, and do you have a keen eye for cybersecurity? The IT & Automation Department is looking for a
Mid-level Network and Infrastructure Administrator (1.0 FTE)
Who are you?
A passion for and understanding of the practice and teaching of the arts will help you understand our end users. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch are required; due to the international nature of many of our programs, proficiency in English is also preferred. You are able to work independently and in a structured manner; you are results-oriented and pragmatic, and you know how to distinguish between what’s important and what’s not. You are a true team player; preferably, you have some experience as a coordinator or project manager.
You have attained at least a higher vocational education (HBO) level of work and thinking through a relevant IT program or through a combination of work experience and training. In addition, you have at least five years of relevant work experience in IT, during which you dealt with customer-focused processes related to networks and infrastructure in the broadest sense. AHK uses a Microsoft Cloud including IP telephony, so it’s important that Office 365, AD, Azure, Windows 10, and Teams hold few secrets for you. We expect at least three years of experience with this platform, particularly regarding the interaction between the local domain, Active Directory, and clients. In your role as an infrastructure administrator, you will manage communication with our suppliers for network management and the virtual machines in our data center (private cloud). You will assist with monitoring switches and firewalls and oversee changes and projects in this area. Experience with and knowledge of cybersecurity is an absolute must. Additionally, experience with various Windows Server and Linux versions, as well as their management aspects, domains, and certificates, is highly recommended. In addition to Windows, Apple Macs are also widely used within the AHK, and knowledge of their server and infrastructure aspects (Jamf Pro, DEP) would be beneficial.
You will be working in the IT Operations Team. There, you will collaborate with seven colleagues to analyze second-level support tickets and implement changes and projects. The focus of this role will be on the areas of networking, infrastructure, and telephony. You will work independently, with colleagues, or within multidisciplinary teams. In addition, you will play a coordinating role with our suppliers. You demonstrate ownership; you don’t give up until it’s clear what the issue is, and when necessary, you seek help to resolve it. You’ll work on a portfolio of infrastructure projects involving many stakeholders, both internal and external. You’ll seek collaboration where needed and ensure a satisfied end-user (support staff, faculty, and students). You maintain an overview of the work and provide plans, reports, and documentation to management.
