Strategy & Policy Officer (Politics)

What will you be doing?

• Contribute to various projects within the Strategy and Policy team, with a focus on advocacy.
• Monitor political and social developments, particularly those related to museum issues.
• Maintain and expand our network of stakeholders, such as government officials, other industry associations, and our own museum networks.
• Supporting the association’s working groups and (statutory) committees, in which role you, as secretary, will share responsibility for preparing meetings and documenting the outcomes.
• Project management of short- and long-term projects, such as the evaluation framework and the quality framework for government-funded museums.
• You’ll coordinate regularly with the team and work closely with management and the press officer.

What are we looking for?

• A strong interest in politics and, preferably, experience in advocacy. An interest in or knowledge of developments in the museum sector is a plus.
• Able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Able to establish (new) partnerships and communicate effectively with partners and colleagues.
• A strong and enterprising individual who builds connections, spots opportunities, and knows how to surprise others with new ideas.
• A passion for the museum sector.

• An employment contract (initially a one-year contract) for 32 or 36 hours (full-time);

• Position under the Museum Collective Bargaining Agreement, pay scale 8–9 (depending on your experience), with a salary range of €2,963 to €4,141 gross per month based on a 36-hour workweek;
