Thanks to you, payroll runs like clockwork. As a payroll specialist, you ensure that colleagues are paid on time and accurately, and that everything is done by the book—precisely, reliably, and with a clear overview, even when things get busy.
We are currently looking for:
Payroll Clerk (0.6 FTE / 22.5 hours)
Location: Amsterdam
What will you be doing?
- You are the point of contact for questions about pay stubs, pension plans, and collective bargaining agreements.
- You process payroll, expense reports, and personnel changes in the payroll system (AFAS).
- You review payroll records, journal entries, and tax payments.
- You will answer employees' questions about pay, leave, and taxes.
- You will maintain contact with agencies such as the IRS, the Social Security Administration, and pension funds.
- You identify areas for improvement in the payroll process and help implement optimizations.
- You will assist the HR administrator as needed.
What are you bringing?
- You have an MBO+ level of work and thinking. A relevant field of study, such as payroll administration, PDL, or VPS, is preferred.
- You have experience in payroll administration or a similar role.
- You have knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (payroll tax, social insurance, collective bargaining agreements).
- You have experience with payroll software (AFAS).
- You are meticulous, discreet, and have strong numerical skills.
- You have a good grasp of the big picture and are a team player.
- You have an excellent command of the Dutch language.
Who do you work with?
You will be part of a close-knit and dynamic HR team with ambitious plans for the coming years. In addition to the HR Associate, the team consists of the HR Manager, three HR Advisors, a recruiter, and a Human Resources Administrator. You will also work closely with the Finance department and managers. You will report to the HR Manager.
