What are you going to do?
As a human resources administrator, you’re the person colleagues can count on: you handle personnel changes with care, even when the pressure is high. Together with two direct colleagues, you divide up requests for assistance and tasks so that the team always functions at its best and everyone receives the support they need.
- You will help ensure optimal HR administration by accurately processing all personnel changes in AFAS;
- You will be a key contributor to HR projects and initiatives. Together with the team, you will help optimize procedures and HR programs.
- You regularly visit the various barracks, not only to explain HR matters but also simply to be there for your colleagues.

Who are we looking for?
For this position, we are looking for a colleague who can make a difference in a complex environment. You are someone who:
- Has completed an MBO+ diploma in the field of HR.
- You remain calm under pressure and keep a clear head, even when there’s a lot going on at once. You switch effortlessly between different tasks and know how to set priorities.
- Service-oriented means: you are attentive to your colleagues’ needs and are always willing to help. You are friendly, approachable, and solution-oriented.
- Works collaboratively: you believe in the power of the team, support others, and contribute to a positive work environment.
- You have strong communication skills, both verbal and written. You can explain things clearly, listen actively, and tailor your communication to different levels within the organization.
- You work with precision and organization: you carefully process personnel changes and identify areas for improvement in processes.
- You are flexible and open to change. You enjoy contributing ideas on how to improve work processes and implement new HR initiatives.
- You are empathetic and easily connect with people from diverse backgrounds. You understand what employees need and know how to respond effectively to their needs.
- Have knowledge of HR systems (preferably AFAS Profit and InSite).
Here's what you'll get from us
The Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region is offering a position within a dynamic and ambitious organization as part of a professional team, with ample opportunities for personal development.
- Salary in pay grade 7 ranging from €2,644 to €3,818 per month based on a 36-hour workweek.
- A 24-hour-per-week position. You’ll definitely be working on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The third day is to be determined.
- An individual flexible spending allowance equal to 18.63% of the gross annual salary.
- This includes the year-end bonus and vacation pay.
- 177 hours of leave based on a 36-hour workweek, including 43.2 hours of overtime. May 1 and May 5 are fixed days off (10.3 hours); these are included in this total
- A generous pension plan through ABP, 70% of which is paid by us
- The option to work remotely with a work-from-home allowance of €3 per day.
- Monthly premium for your health insurance.

The team
You will be working in a team of eight colleagues who handle various tasks related to payroll, HR administration, and AFAS system management. The entire HR department consists of more than 30 colleagues who work hard every day to ensure that all HR-related matters run smoothly.
