Are you a communicator with a knack for building connections who can inspire diverse audiences to engage with the research and knowledge development at the Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK)?
The Center of Expertise Arts & Education (CoE) and the AHK Research Center are looking for a joint
Research Communications Officer (0.8 FTE)
Who are you?
You are interested in the arts and would like to delve deeper into research in and through the arts, as well as art education. You have an analytical mindset that enables you to provide communication advice to the CoE director and the Research Centre program manager. At the same time, you are hands-on and enjoy carrying out communication tasks, such as writing newsletters, managing social media, implementing campaigns, and relationship management. You are flexible, can easily switch between different clients, and know how to effectively divide your time between the two centers.
What do you bring to the table?
You have completed a degree in communication at the higher professional education (HBO) or university (WO) level and have at least two years of experience in (scientific) communication within a research environment (universities, university of applied sciences research groups, research institutes, etc.). You have an excellent command of Dutch and English and are comfortable communicating regularly in English with lecturers or researchers.
What will you be doing?
As a research communications officer, you will help the Centre of Expertise (CoE) Arts & Education and the AHK Research Centre raise the profile of research, events, and news from the CoE and the Research Centre. You will maintain the networks of both centers, attract audiences for their activities, and serve as the communication link between the centers and their partners. You will spend half your time working for the CoE and the other half for the AHK Research Centre.
You are the one who takes charge of the communication strategy and its implementation for both centers and translates these into concrete plans. You manage the customer relationship management system to build networks and utilize it for effective communication. You build a strong network with communication colleagues at the centers’ partner institutions and know how to inspire them to share relevant activities and news within their networks.
Who are we?
