  • Location Amsterdam Faculty of Engineering
  • Salary: €2,589 to €3,545 based on a 36-hour workweek
  • Employment status: 0.6 FTE
  • Contract Temporary contract, one year

Because where else but at the AUAS …

  • You'll be joining a passionate and motivated team where there's room for humor and fun.
  • You’ll enjoy excellent benefits.
  • There is a strong focus on well-being and work-life balance.

Here's what a future colleague has to say

"Working at the AUAS energizes me. It’s a dynamic environment where there’s always something happening—exactly what motivates me to keep growing myself. As part of our warm and friendly team, I’m happy to do my part to ensure students have an enjoyable and rewarding time at university."

Here's how you can make a difference

Collaboration in the area of educational logistics is growing within the AUAS. Processes are being harmonized, systems standardized, and work practices are changing. In this dynamic environment, you are one of our logistics experts. Together with your colleagues in the Academic Affairs Office, you support the academic programs and respond flexibly to their needs.

You’ll make sure everything runs smoothly at the start, during, and at the end of the academic year, including:

  • You will support the process of academic readiness assessments and decentralized admissions—ensuring that students are well-prepared when they begin their programs. You will collaborate with academic programs to make course catalogs and reading lists available in a timely manner and keep online information up to date.
  • You’re the go-to person: students and faculty can come to you with their questions, which you answer thoroughly through various channels. You also handle orders efficiently and accurately.
  • At the end of the academic year, you will help ensure a smoothly organized graduation ceremony.

You’ll be working in the education department, a team of about 20 colleagues. With such a diverse group of people, questions, and tasks, you’ll never get bored.

Your workdays are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; on Tuesdays and Fridays, you will work at the Jakoba Mulderhuis.

You will be available for part of the summer break: together with a few colleagues, you will ensure that the faculty remains accessible.

What else you get

  • A gross monthly salary ranging from €2,589 to €3,545 (Administrative Assistant 1 / Scale 6 of the Higher Professional Education Collective Bargaining Agreement).
  • An end-of-year bonus of 8.3% and vacation pay equal to 8% of your gross annual salary.
  • The option to increase annual leave to 428 hours per year
  • Entitlement to various types of leave, such as paid and unpaid parental leave, caregiving leave, adoption and foster care leave, and provisions for older employees.
  • Depending on your situation, you can choose from one of the following options: a mileage allowance for your commute, an NS Business Card, an AUAS-provided bicycle, or a tax benefit when purchasing another bicycle. If you are unable to commute by private or public transportation—for example, due to a disability—we will work with you to explore your options.
  • Plenty of opportunities for professional development, including through our own AUAS Academy.
  • Discounts on items such as books, cultural courses, software and hardware, and certain types of insurance.
  • We place a strong emphasis on job satisfaction, work-life balance, and well-being. For example, you can participate in our sports activities—designed specifically for AUAS employees—or through the USC sports center at a discounted rate. You can also take advantage of our (career) coaches and online tools designed to support your mental health.
  • A good pension plan with ABP.
  • A monthly internet allowance and a laptop and phone on loan.
  • Last but not least: a workplace in a dynamic environment where you’ll work alongside colleagues in a friendly atmosphere—colleagues you can also connect with outside of work, for example through our communities, such as HvAPride, HvA Alumni, HvA United, JongHvA, and FEM IT.

"Creating Tomorrow " at the Faculty of Engineering at the Education Office

At the Faculty of Engineering, students, faculty, researchers, and external partners work closely together to address pressing societal issues. These include challenges such as climate change, sustainability, the housing crisis, transportation, and health.

Together with our partners, our education and research make a substantial contribution to technical and technological solutions for the social challenges of today and tomorrow. All our employees contribute to this through their own expertise, thereby literally laying the foundation for tomorrow’s developments!

Talent as a foundation, diversity as a strength

Of our more than 45,000 students and 4,500 staff members, no two are alike! Can you imagine how dynamic that is—that enormous variety of personalities, backgrounds, and perspectives? It’s important, too, because we believe that it is precisely thanks to that diversity that we perform better as an employer and as a university of applied sciences of and for the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. We strive to see the diversity that Amsterdam has to offer reflected in our workforce. And to be an organization where every employee and student feels welcome, valued, and at home. So whoever you are: you are most welcome!
