We are looking for a colleague who is incredibly eager to position the museum as the central stage for antiquity. Your age doesn’t matter, as long as you’re open-minded. It’s a plus if you’ve already demonstrated your capabilities at another cultural institution, for example through collaborations with city marketing or with long-term partners like the Vriendenloterij. You’re also welcome to convince us that your business experience will actually benefit a museum like ours.
JOB OPENING AS OF OCTOBER 1 OR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
Marketing and Communications Associate
(32 hours per week)
About us
The National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden is a dynamic museum and the premier venue for antiquity and archaeology in the Netherlands. It employs over 80 people who are involved in developing exhibitions, conducting scientific research, and managing and preserving the 200,000 objects in the National Collection. The work atmosphere is open and informal, and the staff are deeply committed to the cultural sector in general and the museum in particular.
In addition to the exhibitions, we organize many activities that are promoted by the PR, Marketing, and Communications department. You will work in a team of three colleagues, reporting directly to the director. In our flat organizational structure, employees enjoy a great deal of freedom and autonomy. This role is quite demanding, particularly in the areas of marketing and communications. That is why we are looking for someone who is a jack-of-all-trades, can think strategically, and is a go-getter.
