Dordrechts Museum is part of the cultural organization Dordrechts Museum (70 FTE) of the municipality of Dordrecht, which also includes the Dordrecht Regional Archives, Hof van Nederland, Huis Van Gijn, and Dordrechts Museum.
Since its founding in 1842, it has been a museum of contemporary and modern art. The museum acquired works by “living masters.” Later, works by 17th- and 18th-century masters from the city were also added to the collection. The museum now boasts a fine collection spanning six centuries of Dutch painting, featuring high-quality works by artists from the Netherlands and beyond. Through a wide-ranging program of exhibitions and activities, we aim to introduce our museum to a broad and diverse audience.
