About CODA

With a public library, museum, archive, and ExperienceLab, CODA is a source of inspiration in the fields of literature, art, heritage, innovation, and technology—right in the heart of the city. Here, you’ll discover the most captivating stories, experience history, immerse yourself in art and culture, and develop 21st-century skills.

Everyone is welcome at CODA, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, religion, background, socioeconomic status, or whether or not they have a disability. Through our educational programs, events, the CODA ExperienceLab, and the Taalhuis Apeldoorn, we are committed to involving everyone. CODA has a comprehensive inclusion program through which we make art, culture, and heritage accessible to various groups in society. We do this by, among other things, creating customized activities and offering guided tours for people with dementia, newcomers, the blind and visually impaired, or those with sensory sensitivities. As an Inclusion & Diversity Officer, you are responsible for creating a creative, accessible, and cohesive program for various inclusion groups. You understand the current landscape, recognize the importance of these issues, and know how to translate this into programming and how to advise your colleagues.

What will you be doing?

  • You will develop, plan, and implement programs focused on inclusion and diversity;
  • You will maintain partnerships with various advocacy and policy organizations working in areas relevant to CODA and establish new partnerships;
  • You will develop new programs in collaboration with partners and subject matter experts, drawing on CODA’s diverse functions and collections;
  • You recruit CODA teachers and volunteers to carry out activities and provide training for both groups so they can conduct or supervise these activities.

What are you bringing?

  • You have a college-level education and relevant training;
  • You have a demonstrable commitment to social issues and a vision for an inclusive society;
  • You are customer-focused, have experience working with specific target groups, and know how to create engaging programs for people with conditions such as dementia, acquired brain injury, sensory processing disorder, or visual impairment, as well as newcomers.
  • You are a skilled planner and organizer, including when it comes to your own work. You effectively set goals and priorities and know how to plan the time, actions, and resources needed to achieve those goals;
  • You are a flexible team player who clearly understands how your own work and activities impact other parts of the organization;
  • You are a proactive networker, both when it comes to managing existing relationships and expanding your network of partners in the field;
  • You are a strong communicator and able to convey ideas and opinions in a language and tone that others can understand; moreover, you know how to present them clearly and tailor them to your target audiences. You are skilled at articulating your plans in written documents or presentations using correct and clear Dutch.

What do we offer you?

  • A varied role with plenty of room for initiative in an inspiring organization;
  • A competitive salary based on the Public Libraries Collective Bargaining Agreement. You will be placed in pay grade 8 (minimum €2,860 and maximum €3,665 gross per month for a 36-hour workweek). The salary depends on your knowledge, experience, and skills;
  • A pension plan, training opportunities, and a company-provided cell phone and laptop from CODA;
  • A package of attractive benefits and services, such as a membership to the CODA Library, free admission to the CODA Museum, and partial reimbursement of your commuting expenses
