The Concertgebouw is one of the most visited concert halls in the world, hosting over 900 events and welcoming more than 730,000 visitors each year. The acoustics of our halls are world-renowned; nowhere else does classical music sound more beautiful. The Concertgebouw Fund Foundation is a cultural ANBI (public benefit organization) dedicated to fundraising, with the goal of preserving the Concertgebouw for future generations by, among other things, funding its maintenance and renovations. In addition, funds are raised for educational programs, enabling more than 20,000 children each year—often for the first time—to experience an interactive performance or a family concert at the Concertgebouw. The Fund also finances concerts that would not be possible without additional funding, such as multi-day festivals and participatory performances that attract a broad and diverse audience.

Who are you?

• You are an experienced administrative and secretarial assistant with expertise in client relations and office management; 
  
• You are good at planning and work with precision; 
  
• You are customer-friendly and service-oriented, flexible regarding working hours, and live in the Amsterdam area; 
  
• You have experience working in a fundraising or commercial environment and enjoy it; 
  

We are looking for someone who can work on a temporary basis—preferably as soon as possible—for a period of six months, three or four days a week (in the office), with the possibility of extending the contract.   

What does your team look like? 

Within the Concertgebouw Fund department, you will be part of a dedicated and enthusiastic team consisting of three specialized fundraisers, a project manager, a director, and an intern. You will also collaborate with colleagues from various departments at the Concertgebouw.  

What will you be doing?

The focus of this position is on managing relationships with private donors and performing related administrative and secretarial tasks for the Concertgebouw Fund (HCF). Your main responsibilities will include:  

• Managing relationships with (smaller) private donors who are part of various funds, such as Fonds 1888, Fonds Kleine Zaal, the Algemeen Begunstigers, and De Toegift; you will share responsibility for retaining and recruiting these donors;
  
• Organizing events for participants in the above-mentioned funds. This includes sending invitations, tracking registrations, and welcoming these benefactors to concerts, guided tours, and rehearsals;
  
• Administrative tasks, such as sending and storing agreements pertaining to the fund participants;
  
• Planning and coordinating both internal and external meetings, including taking minutes;
  
• Managing the schedule of the Director of the Concertgebouw Fund. You will schedule appointments and prepare for them;
  
• You will contribute to communications within the Concertgebouw Fund by helping to develop brochures and publications such as the Courant (content, scheduling, photos), compiling program booklets for private concerts, and preparing (Christmas) letters and gifts for donors.

• A salary in accordance with the Concertgebouw’s compensation system, ranging from €2,860 to €3,750 gross per month based on full-time employment (38 hours per week);
