Leerorkest Nederland is an ambitious music education program with a social mission. Making music enriches lives, which is why we believe every child has the right to a music education. We operate nationwide, with initiatives such as the Instrument Depot for lending musical instruments. In Amsterdam, our programs in and around schools reach thousands of children and young people. Our home base is Amsterdam-Zuidoost, and we are housed at Muziekcentrum Zuidoost.
Due to the departure of our current Fundraising and Donor Relations Specialist, we are seeking a Fundraising and Donor Relations Officer (0.6 FTE)
As a fundraiser, you will work closely with the executive director, the controller, and the PR and communications manager. You will translate the fundraising strategy into a plan with specific targets, projects, and activities, and you will monitor the corresponding budget. You will develop initiatives to attract new donors and keep current donors engaged.
You are responsible for drafting and submitting grant applications to the district, the municipality, and provincial/national funds and institutions. You prepare interim and final reports, including financial accountability. To this end, you actively gather the necessary data from your immediate colleagues as needed. You will monitor, analyze, and report on the progress of fundraising activities and results, and ensure that established financial goals are met.
The Leerorkest Foundation is based in Amsterdam Zuidoost. Here, we work with a motivated team of staff to promote equal opportunity in the city through music education. We endorse the Code of Cultural Diversity and strive as an organization to reflect society. All talents are welcome. We are especially interested in your qualities and how you can contribute to our team.
You have a relevant associate’s or bachelor’s degree and proven knowledge of fundraising and grant applications. In addition, you have experience with project-based work, are financially savvy, and have a fluent and clear writing style. You can handle stress well, are accustomed to working with deadlines, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
If you see yourself in the job description above and are passionate about music education, you’re more than welcome to join our team!
