
As a Finance and Project Management Associate, you will be responsible for financial and project management alongside a colleague. Your responsibilities will include preparing national and international grant reports, the annual budget, and the financial statements in collaboration with the accountant. You will also handle the project management and administrative tasks for our research projects. You will verify the accuracy of data and compile financial and management reports, such as monthly revenue reports, capacity planning, and liquidity forecasts. In consultation with the Head of Operations, you will also develop a vision for the financial processes and project management within the organization.
As a Finance and Project Management Associate, you will be responsible for financial and project management alongside a colleague. This includes accounts receivable and accounts payable, processing invoices and transactions, filing tax returns, and managing fixed assets and property and casualty insurance. Your responsibilities will include preparing national and international grant reports, the annual budget, and the financial statements in collaboration with the accountant.
You will also be responsible for the project management and administration of our research projects. You will support project leaders in grant-funded research for the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and other funding agencies, as well as in commissioned research for municipalities, sports associations, and policy organizations, among others. You will enter projects into the administrative systems, create budget plans, and monitor them. Based on data from Exact Online, you will provide project leaders with up-to-date overviews of hours worked and employee availability, so that they can effectively manage our research projects.
You verify the accuracy of data and compile (financial) management reports, such as monthly revenue reports, capacity planning, and liquidity forecasts. You will also identify shortcomings in administrative processes and contribute ideas for quality improvement. You will advise the Management Team, both upon request and proactively, on the development of the financial and project-based organization and service delivery. In consultation with the Head of Operations, you will develop a vision for the financial processes and project management within the organization.

In your day-to-day work, you will collaborate closely with your colleagues in finance and project management, as well as the administrative assistant. You will report to the Head of Operations.

The Mulier Institute operates on a 37.5-hour workweek and has its own employment conditions, including full reimbursement of travel expenses, a work-from-home policy, and a time-for-time and leave savings scheme. We use the salary scales set forth in the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities. The position of Finance and Project Management Officer is classified in scale 10 (€2,960 to €4,670 per month for a 37.5-hour workweek). Initially, you will receive a one-year contract, with the possibility of extension to a permanent position. Upon starting employment, we require a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).
