De Ateliers (Stichting Ateliers 63), founded in 1963 by and for artists, is an international institute dedicated to fostering the development of visual artists at the start of their careers. De Ateliers is part of the cultural organization BIS and receives additional financial support from AFK, private foundations, and the Stichting Ateliers Support Fund (ASF).
De Ateliers is housed in a historic building in Amsterdam and provides space for twenty Dutch and international artists who, over the course of two years, develop their skills to the highest level in their own studios and under the weekly intensive guidance of experienced peers. In addition, De Ateliers organizes public events such as exhibitions and artist talks. In 2023, De Ateliers opened “Woonhuis,” a project and exhibition space open to the public, located in the former caretaker’s residence of De Ateliers. Woonhuis is curated and run collectively by the participants of De Ateliers.
