Atria collects and manages resources on gender equality, women’s movements, and women’s empowerment, and makes them accessible to the academic community and society at large. Through research in national and international contexts , Atria promotes knowledge development and thereby contributes to the emancipation of women in all their diversity.The focus on the specific interactions between different groups in society makes our collection distinctive and unique.
Atria collects materials to enable academia and society to preserve information and generate new knowledge about the history of women, gender relations, women’s movements, and the evolution of women’s status. The archives contain the primary sources of Dutch women’s movements. The library and databases provide a broad national and international context for these sources. Together, they form a unified whole in which the constituent parts reinforce, enrich, and deepen one another.
As a Corporate Communications & PR Officer, you will help shape Atria’s professional and public image as the leading knowledge institute for gender equality, women’s movements, and emancipation. You will contribute to the development and implementation of strategic communication policies and be responsible for their execution. You will collaborate with the Collections and Research teams and the relationship manager/fundraiser, advising them on opportunities for communication initiatives. Your goal is to continuously highlight the (growing) accessibility of our collection of archives and library, focusing on an academic and interested audience. You will also develop and maintain contacts with relevant media and effectively utilize these contacts to disseminate valuable research findings for both the academic community and society at large.
You are a communications professional through and through, and as a heritage enthusiast, our motto “No documents, no history” —coined by one of our founders, Rosa Manus—resonates deeply with you. You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree and have at least 3 years of experience in a similar communications role. You have a way with words and are fluent in both Dutch and English. You have a demonstrable affinity for heritage and the history and current issues surrounding women’s movements, gender equality, and emancipation.
We offer a dynamic work environment with a high degree of autonomy and an enthusiastic and friendly team. The position is a 32–36-hour-per-week contract for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension. You will receive a salary in accordance with Scale 9 of the Social Work Collective Bargaining Agreement, ranging from €3,226 to €4,756 gross per month based on a 36-hour workweek, depending on your knowledge and experience. This includes an Individual Choice Budget, 8.11% vacation pay, a thirteenth month’s salary of 8.96%, and reimbursement of your travel expenses. You will accrue pension benefits through the Healthcare and Welfare Pension Fund. With the Career Budget of 1.5% of your annual salary, you can take a course, training, or program to further your professional development.
