Nederlands Dans Theater is one of the world’s leading modern dance companies. Behind the scenes, our staff works to perfect the performances, the dance experience, and all related aspects—from costume design and production to lighting and sound design, as well as educational activities. Our team faces the exciting challenge of positioning Nederlands Dans Theater even more prominently and “broadly” in the market, not only among our current target audience but also among younger audiences. We also aim to further expand our sponsorship and fundraising activities. Through your strategic input and entrepreneurial spirit, you will help our department achieve these goals.
As a communications officer, you will coordinate all communications activities for “Friends of NDT” and work closely with your colleagues on the Development team. In this role, you will share responsibility for and actively contribute to the Development team’s strategic annual plan. You are responsible for the recruitment, retention, upgrading, and win-back of Friends (individual donors) and maintain contact with the board of the Friends Fund. In collaboration with colleagues, you initiate and oversee campaigns (including legacy campaigns) and activities (magazines, newsletters, online, etc.) based on the strategic annual plan and the available budget. As an enthusiastic Friends coordinator, you will maintain and further build valuable relationships with Friends and work closely with your colleague responsible for the NDT Fund. This also includes recruiting, supervising, and coordinating volunteers for special projects. You will draw up the annual schedule for all Friends activities and benefits and carry them out (newsletters, various types of events, etc.). In addition, you are responsible for managing and maintaining the database in the CRM program (entering new Friends, keeping the database up to date, etc.). You provide weekly reports and analyses on the results achieved (financial, growth, and churn) and propose solutions for any issues or challenges that arise. From a financial perspective, you will manage the Friends budget and contribute to the careful handling of payments for contributions from private donors and the processing of donation deeds.
