Marketing, communications, radio, television, and online all come together in the role of marketing communications manager. Do you know everything there is to know about running cross-media campaigns and do you have proven experience in this area? Are you completely at home with digital marketing and do you know how to reach our audience online, while staying within the bounds of non-commerciality? Then this is the perfect role for you!
As a marketing communications manager, you will develop radio, television, and online campaigns that strengthen and expand the value propositions and reach of all our channel and platform brands. Together with our agencies and internal colleagues, you will create cross-media campaigns that resonate with our audience and inspire action. In this way, you will increase brand recognition and drive more engagement with the rich content of public broadcasting in today’s crowded media landscape—on TV, radio, and our digital platforms NPO Start and NPO Luister. Together with the Audio and Video marketing strategists, you will be responsible for our entire marketing communication strategy and its translation into an ambitious and achievable campaign calendar.
As a marketing communications manager, you naturally possess above-average communication skills. You are a team player and a connector, can adapt quickly in a complex environment, and have a good sense of internal dynamics. You know how to translate marketing jargon into clear and effective language (for non-specialists). You bring creative ideas to the table and have a keen interest in current and emerging media and media formats. You stay well-informed and are, of course, familiar with our brand portfolio in the areas of radio, television, online, and on-demand.
You see all kinds of opportunities for the NPO to make it even more accessible to everyone in the Netherlands and to promote the values of public broadcasting and turn them into unique selling points.
As a marketing communications manager, you will work in the Marketing Department, whose goal is to encourage the public to watch, listen to, or use public broadcasting content. We aim to build a connection with the public to maximize the personal and societal impact of the broadcasters’ media offerings. In the field of marketing, we serve as the center of expertise for channel, genre, and programming teams, broadcasters, and the various teams within the Audience & Marketing division.
The Marketing Department consists of two sub-teams: Marketing Communications and Continuity & Promotion (C&P), and is part of the Audience & Marketing Division, which also includes Audience Research and Corporate Communications. As Marketing Communications Manager, you will report to the Marketing Manager.
The position of Marketing Communications Manager is a 36-hour-per-week role. The position offers a gross monthly salary ranging from €3,359 to €5,284 based on a 36-hour workweek. We determine the salary based on education, experience, and equal pay (m/f/x). This is a permanent position, starting with a one-year contract. Internal candidates will be given preference if equally qualified.

The NPO has a public mission: to serve the interests of every individual and society as a whole. The needs of our audience—with all its diverse backgrounds and perspectives—are our guiding principle. We want this to be reflected in our organization’s workforce. We believe in an inclusive organization that harnesses the power of diversity to achieve even better results.
