At DOX, creators and performers from various (sub)cultures work closely together on research and learning programs (DOX Club), productions, and educational projects that reach young audiences. We love crossovers between theater and dance, and urban arts like spoken word and hip-hop are our sources of inspiration. In 2021, a total of 662 activities took place.

DOX is a locally and internationally oriented development organization that combines a production function, an incubator, and a theater company. Utrecht is our home base. Our core business, in addition to talent development, is producing innovative performing arts for young people with roots in the urban arts. The close intertwining of production, talent development, education, and audience engagement is unique in Dutch youth theater: at DOX, creators have their target audience right here in-house—and on the work floor! Together, they create new stories and narrative forms.

What do you bring to the table?

• A passion for talent in the theater and, of course, the cultural sector;
• You have a college-level education and relevant training;
• Work experience in marketing/communications;
• Writing talent;
• Experience with or interest in assisting with and editing grant and funding applications;
• You can handle stress well and are able to switch easily between different projects and departments;
• You are both a thinker and a doer;
• Preferably living in or around Utrecht.

Your duties and responsibilities

• Assisting with and editing grant applications and annual reports.
• Develop and implement project plans at the conceptual level;
• A sounding board for colleagues in marketing, education, and public relations;
• Operational tasks such as writing press releases, news articles, and social media content.
