Do you have a passion for art and culture? Do you want to help create a fair labor market for the cultural and creative sector? Are you an experienced M&C professional? Do you know what it takes to further professionalize an association and raise its profile? Then we’re looking for you!
We are the Creative Coalition. We are an association of 44 advocacy groups from the cultural and creative sector, representing a total of more than 45,000 members. Together, we advocate for the interests of everyone working in the cultural and creative sector. We are committed to ensuring a healthy, safe, and fair labor market in our sector. Fair Practice—including Fair Pay, Fair Share, and Fair Chain—are the Creative Coalition’s priorities for the coming period.
Following its founding phase, the association is currently in a transition toward stabilization. This role places a strong emphasis on connecting and professionalizing the association’s members, building knowledge, and representing the association externally. In recent years, the Creative Coalition, together with its members, has gained an increasingly strong foothold in The Hague’s political arena and has represented the voice of working people. It is partly up to the new M&C staff member to highlight these developments and raise the Coalition’s profile.

You will be working in a dynamic environment with hardworking professionals who run their own practices in the cultural and creative sector. You are passionate about the cultural and creative sector and the labor market challenges it faces.
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who enjoys helping to shape our marketing and communications within a political environment. Someone who is able to translate our mission, strategy, and objectives into marketing and communications policies and who can also oversee their implementation. Building connections with our members is of the utmost importance—after all, that’s what it’s all about. You are a good listener, ask insightful questions, and have strong analytical skills. You’re able to find common ground among many different opinions. You stay the course and know how to align all communications with the mission, strategy, and objectives of the Creative Coalition. You maintain an overview of all activities and their respective budgets.
You will report to the director and work closely with all your colleagues and, depending on the activity, with the board. The board consists of a minimum of five and a maximum of ten members.
The operational team supports the association and the board. The operational team consists of a director (0.8 FTE), an office secretary (0.6 FTE), a project manager (0.8 FTE), a marketing and communications officer (0.6 FTE), and staff hired on a freelance or project basis.
You are an excellent and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing. You are able to gather information, assess its implications for the Creative Coalition’s objectives, and translate the significance of that information into various forms of communication. You recognize and acknowledge the different roles within the association and know how to leverage that influence positively to achieve the Creative Coalition’s objectives. You recognize and respect diverse opinions, can reach decisions, and act decisively on them. You are effective and efficient, with strong planning and organizational skills. Above all, you are a team player and strive to tackle projects together with the members. You have at least a bachelor’s degree and substantial experience in a similar role.
We don't have an office yet. Depending on where our employees live, we'll look for workspace at members' locations or rent space elsewhere. You'll also work from home.
We strive to achieve a good balance of diverse backgrounds within our board and our organization, including age, sex, gender, experience, and cultural background. We therefore warmly invite all interested candidates to apply.
