More about this organization
The majestic Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, with its classical architecture and the green lawn in front of it.

The Concertgebouw is one of the most visited concert halls in the world, hosting over 900 events and welcoming more than 730,000 visitors each year. The acoustics of our halls are world-renowned; nowhere else does classical music sound more beautiful. But we offer much more than just classical music: you can also enjoy pop, jazz, film music, hip-hop, children’s concerts, and much more. We are responsible for 95% of our own revenue. With an enthusiastic, close-knit, and friendly team, we create unforgettable experiences for our visitors.

Who are you?

  • You are an experienced marketer, both online and offline, and you are eager to further develop your skills in the field of marketing
  • You are results-oriented
  • You are good at planning and work with precision
  • You are creative and solution-oriented
  • You have an affinity for (classical) music

No two people are alike. The Concertgebouw strives to be an organization where everyone feels welcome and safe—a place where employees can be themselves and are given the freedom and recognition they need to contribute to our mission in their own way.

What does your team look like?

Within the Marketing, Communications, and Sales department, you will be part of the Marketing team. This is a dedicated and enthusiastic team consisting of five specialized marketers and one junior marketer.

What will you be doing?

The focus of the role is on marketing the VriendenLoterij Summer Concerts. This concert series takes place every year in July and August and consists of more than 80 concerts, ranging from classical and film music to pop and jazz. You will play a key advisory role in product development and concert programming from the perspective of audience development. You will also be responsible for creating the festival-like atmosphere that characterizes the VriendenLoterij Summer Concerts: from the design of marketing and communication materials to the venue decor, developing catering packages, and organizing exclusive events. In addition, you will also handle the concert marketing for a number of concerts outside the summer season.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Developing a marketing strategy for the VriendenLoterij Summer Concerts and the other concerts for which you are responsible
  • Provide advice to the programmers on concert programming based on your expertise in reaching target audiences
  • Planning and content of the marketing campaign, in consultation with the media agency and the Marketing, Intelligence, and Online Sales team
  • Creating all marketing materials, such as brochures, posters, TV and radio commercials, (online) ads, and all campaign materials
  • Analyzing ticket sales data and optimizing marketing based on the insights gained
  • Contributing to audience development for new target groups
  • Building and maintaining lasting relationships with partner organizations
  • Regular coordination with the VriendenLoterij, from planning the start of ticket sales to evaluation and invoicing.
  • Preparing concert budgets, in collaboration with the programmers

You will work closely with the Content Marketing, Press & PR, and Marketing Intelligence & Online Sales teams, as well as with other departments within the Concertgebouw, such as Programming, Sponsorship, and Venue Rental. Given the focus on marketing the VriendenLoterij Summer Concerts, it is important that you are available to work in June and July.

What do we offer?

  • A salary between €3,320 and €4,414 gross per month based on full-time employment (38 hours per week).
  • Vacation pay and a pension plan.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • You can work partly from home if you want to.
  • With the free ticket program, you can attend concerts in what we (in our humble opinion) consider to be the most beautiful concert hall in the Netherlands.
  • You can take training courses to keep your knowledge up to date and further your professional development.
  • A bicycle plan for up to €749, including VAT.
  • The opportunity to take yoga classes, join our running team, or sing in our staff choir every week.
  • And above all, you’ll be part of a dedicated and enthusiastic team in a dynamic and informal work environment.

Will you be our new colleague?

We’d love to hear from you. You can apply through Sunday, September 28, 2025, by sending your resume and a cover letter to vacature@concertgebouw.nl.

You will receive a response to your application within one week of the job posting’s closing date. The first interviews will take place during the week of October 6, followed by a second round of interviews. If you are selected, a final meeting to discuss the terms of employment will follow. During the interviews, we ask all candidates the same questions to ensure a fair selection process.

Do you have any questions about the job opening or the application process? Please contact Job Noordhof, Head of Marketing, Communications, and Sales: j.noordhof@concertgebouw.nl. Tel.: 020 5730576
