Would you like to work in the heart of Amsterdam’s cultural and literary scene? As a marketer, you’ll be at the center of our vast network of writers, poets, and other artists, cultural partner organizations, and publishers. You’ll be part of our small, passionate team in an inspiring and challenging role.
The Amsterdam Literary Activities Foundation (SLAA) is looking for a marketing specialist ( 20 hours per week). Start date: mid-August.
SLAA, Amsterdam’s oldest literary organization, develops innovative literary productions for all Amsterdammers. We have not only a literary mission but also a social one: to provide every Amsterdammer with access to literature. We program in every conceivable genre: from essays to spoken word, from lectures to panel discussions, from prose to poetry. These programs take place in the most diverse formats at the most varied locations: think of an open mic nightin a gallery, a variety show in the heart of Tuindorp-Oostzaan, or a literary talk show in the Tolhuistuin. We provide a platform for Dutch and international writers, from established authors to emerging talent, and are active throughout the city—from Southeast to North, from Nieuw-West to East, and from the City Center to Osdorp—as well as online. As a marketer, you’ll be at the center of all our activities; you’ll contribute ideas on content and handle the promotion for these events.
Diversity and inclusion are important to the SLAA. Amsterdam is a vibrant city—this is reflected in our programming, and we want to see it reflected in our team as well.
SLAA is offering a temporary employment contract through March 2025, with the possibility of extension thereafter if both parties are satisfied and provided that the Arts Plan 2025–2028 is approved. The competitive compensation package is in line with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Performing Arts Venues and includes a pension plan.
Please apply by Friday, May 24. Send your resume and cover letter to sollicitatie@slaa.nl. Interviews will be scheduled in June.
