De Kap connects people who need help or care with residents of Apeldoorn who are eager to help others. We also support people in Apeldoorn and the surrounding villages who are providing long-term care for a family member or friend. Doing something for someone else on a volunteer basis is a wonderful thing. Together, we can accomplish a great deal! Would you like to volunteer as an informal care consultant? We’d love to hear from you.
What will you be doing?
Working closely with your colleagues, you will support family caregivers.
One new colleague will focus specifically on reaching informal caregivers with an immigrant background. You will help bring about change in this area.
- You maintain contact with migrant groups, organize meetings with partners, and discuss informal care.
- You serve as a resource for family caregivers, offering them advice and coaching on personal issues.
- You share your knowledge about informal care and migrant groups and coordinate with healthcare and social services professionals.
The other new colleague focuses primarily on providing individual support to family caregivers and collaborating within networks, for example, regarding dementia-friendly neighborhoods.
- You serve as a resource for family caregivers, offering them advice and coaching on personal issues. You make home visits. This includes topics such as respite care, collaboration with care organizations, and coping with the loss of a loved one.
