Marketing and Communications Manager
With its high-profile programs, the Ragazze Quartet has established itself as one of the freshest and most influential voices in classical music. Ragazze enjoys collaborating with young musicians, visual artists, and theater makers, as well as with leading organizations such as Nederlands Dans Theater, the Kronos Quartet, Orkater, and the Holland Festival. Ragazze performs concerts worldwide in classical concert halls, as well as at festivals such as Oerol and Into the Wide Open, and serves as artistic director of their own festival, September Me, in Amersfoort. A key strength of Ragazze is the quartet’s ability to address contemporary social issues in a personal way within a musical context. Ragazze Quartet performs 70 concerts annually in the Netherlands and internationally and produces several, often multidisciplinary, productions each year.
We are looking for
Do you have a broad interest in music and would you like to work with us at a strategic level to engage both our existing and new audiences with our programs? We are looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager with industry experience who can translate the contemporary and innovative character of the Ragazze Quartet into a marketing strategy. You will draw up a marketing plan, develop strategies to reach specific target groups, and implement these strategies within a set budget. You will maintain contact with internal and external networks. You are able to work independently and adjust the marketing and communications process as needed. You will serve as a sparring partner for the Executive Director and maintain regular contact with the Ragazze Quartet to align marketing strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the marketing and communications policy, from strategy to implementation.
- Developing a marketing and communications plan. Identifying opportunities and possibilities in the areas of marketing and communications.
- Writing content for newsletters, press releases, social media, and websites.
- Developing promotional materials such as videos, photos, and printed materials in collaboration with photographers, videographers, and designers.
- Developing and implementing (or having implemented) the website, social media, and content strategy, including banner ads, Google AdWords, LinkedIn Advertising, social media, SEO, and SEA.
- Ensuring consistency in the style and tone of communication.
- Maintaining and expanding an internal and external network, including the press.
- Setting (measurable) goals and evaluating them.
- Manage the sub-budget and report to the business manager.
- Communication activities for the Development Department (fundraising and donor relations)
- As the artistic and business director, you are at the heart of the organization. You will contribute ideas from a marketing perspective on concept development and the overall interests of the Ragazze Quartet.
Profile
- You have at least a college-level education and work experience.
- You have at least two years of relevant work experience as a marketer in the cultural sector.
- You have a large personal network within the cultural sector.
- You have experience writing marketing plans and conducting target audience analyses.
- You have extensive and up-to-date knowledge of online marketing.
- Experience working with WordPress, email marketing software, and CRM systems is a plus.
- You share an affinity with the Ragazze Quartet and its artistic vision.
- You are hands-on, proactive, organized, meticulous, have a strong sense of responsibility, and are dedicated.
- You can work independently.
- You have strong communication skills and can write and edit texts.
- You are flexible regarding your work schedule.
- Ideally, you live within commuting distance of Amsterdam.
