Amsterdam Sinfonietta is the premier string orchestra in the Netherlands. The orchestra consists of 23 string players and is led by violinist and artistic director Candida Thompson. Amsterdam Sinfonietta performs at the country’s most prestigious concert venues and tours all over the world. The orchestra is known for its adventurous and innovative programs, ranging from pure classical music to collaborations with other art forms such as dance, theater, film, and poetry. Its repertoire is broad: from Baroque to contemporary music, as well as crossovers with pop, jazz, and non-Western music.
Amsterdam Sinfonietta receives ongoing support from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts, as well as contributions from friends, donors, partners, and foundations. The Development team consists of three staff members and is responsible for recruiting friends, securing donations, bequests, and corporate partners, as well as raising funds from public and private foundations for specific projects. The Development department serves as an essential link between the orchestra and its supporters.

Management Assistant, Development (0.6–0.8 FTE)
As a Development Management Assistant, you are the indispensable link in the team’s administrative and organizational support. You manage the donor records: you process registrations from new friends and donors, draft donation agreements, and ensure that our CRM system is always up to date.
In addition, you will organize receptions for donors, companies, and partners in connection with concerts, rehearsals, and tours. This includes receptions before or after concerts, the New Year’s reception, rehearsals for friends, and the annual donor trip during an international tour. You’ll ensure that everything is prepared down to the last detail and—together with your colleagues—contribute to a warm and personal welcome for our guests. Within Amsterdam Sinfonietta, there are opportunities for you to further develop your career in the field of development over time, depending on your ambitions and interests.
We offer a versatile position in an inspiring and informal work environment where you will collaborate with a small, close-knit, and motivated team. The salary is in accordance with Scale V of the Collective Labor Agreement for Music Ensembles. The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of a permanent position.
