More about this organization
A modern building with an organic shape and a colorful facade, surrounded by greenery and walking paths filled with visitors.

Would you like to work alongside passionate colleagues to create a world where people and nature thrive? And help build a “nature-positive” impact in the world’s most biodiverse landscapes by mobilizing people? That’s what you’ll be doing when you work at the World Wildlife Fund (WWF-NL).

WWF-NL employs 170 talented and intrinsically motivated professionals. WWF-NL is a professional and dynamic organization with an informal work environment based in Zeist. The organization consists of the following departments: Conservation, Engagement, Organization & Talent Development, and Finance & Operations. The HR team consists of the Head of HR, two HR Business Partners, and a Junior HR Business Partner/Recruitment Coordinator. To strengthen this team, we are seeking a Learning & Development Advisor (32–40 hours per week).

As a Learning & Development Advisor, you will serve as the point of contact within the HR team for all matters related to team and employee development at WWF-NL. You will be responsible for the overall learning and development portfolio, working on both strategic and operational levels. The organization is at the beginning of developing a new long-term strategy, and culture and leadership development are key pillars of this effort. As a Learning & Development Advisor, you will take a leading role in this process and will be responsible for initiating and organizing appropriate learning interventions. You will build upon existing programs, such as Personal Leadership and our talent development program, while also introducing innovation. You will work closely with the Head of HR and the HR Business Partners to determine, based on the (new) strategy, what is needed to further build the right capabilities within the organization, and you will collaborate on talent management to better facilitate growth and development. You will also support the HR Business Partners as needed with individual or team development questions. You will independently coordinate various programs, connect initiatives, and ensure that the training and coaching budget is spent effectively in line with WWF-NL’s strategy. You are also part of the international People & Culture community. You will maintain contact with WWF International and other WWF offices regarding collaboration on development programs. You will report to the Head of HR.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • You will translate WWF-NL’s (newly developed) strategy into a suitable range of learning activities and/or coaching opportunities
  • You lead or participate in projects and programs related to culture and leadership
  • You will work closely with the Head of HR and HR Business Partners to provide advice on learning and development for teams and individuals, as well as talent management
  • You will work alongside the Junior HR Business Partner/Recruitment Coordinator to further optimize the onboarding process at WWF-NL
  • You are responsible for implementing the comprehensive learning and development program for WWF-NL and continuously optimizing it by measuring its effectiveness
  • You will work closely with WWF International and other WWF offices on development programs
  • You will lead learning initiatives and coach teams and individuals as needed
  • You manage, coordinate, and monitor the training and coaching budget

Who are you?

For this versatile role, we are looking for an experienced Learning & Development Advisor who is creative and solution-oriented and can quickly switch between strategic/tactical thinking and operational execution.

  • You have proven experience in initiating and developing learning initiatives, such as cultural and leadership programs
  • You have experience in developing a training program aligned with a long-term strategy and in talent management
  • You have a clear vision of and experience with interventions related to culture and behavior
  • You have experience coaching individuals, teams, and managing group dynamics
  • You are independent, creative, and a team player
  • You have a strong moral compass and act with integrity
  • You have an affinity for and experience working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
  • Ideally, you should have certification in coaching and the use of the MBTI
  • The working language within the organization is English. A good command of English, both spoken and written, is required.

Core Values

You identify with the core values of WWF-NL:

  • Courage
  • Integrity
  • Respect

What do we offer?

  • You'll be working in a sustainable office surrounded by nature;

  • Vegetarian lunches in the company cafeteria and free Thursday afternoon drinks;
  • A position of 32 to 40 hours per week. Initially, a one-year contract will be offered with a one-month probationary period;
  • A competitive salary in line with the Dutch nonprofit sector; the minimum gross monthly salary for the position is €4,147 and the maximum monthly salary is €5,752, depending on relevant experience (based on a 40-hour workweek);
  • Employees also receive a personal budget, consisting of 8% vacation pay and 2.08% flexible budget, and are entitled to 6 weeks of leave per year (based on a 40-hour workweek);
  • We encourage flexible work arrangements and the use of public transportation and bicycles for commuting and business travel. Commuting expenses are reimbursed based on second-class public transportation fares (NS Business Card);
  • At WWF-NL, we operate on a hybrid model, which allows employees to alternate between working in the office and working from home.
