For the Public and Information Department, which consists of marketing and communications, education and interpretation, and digital and online, the Centraal Museum is seeking an enthusiastic and creative:
Junior Programmer, Education & Interpretation (16 hours per week)
In this dynamic role, you’ll gain work experience in programming, production, and planning. Over the summer, you’ll program and organize multiple editions of Centraal Laat.
As a programmer, you will be responsible for translating our exhibition into a program that brings together various artistic disciplines, such as music, theater, film, and spoken word. Your role will involve helping to conceive and produce this programming, particularly for “Centraal Laat,” the program we create specifically for young adults aged 25–35 and curious Utrecht residents looking for experimentation and adventure. This program is organized several times a year on Thursday evenings at the Centraal Museum, thanks to the generous support provided through the Basic Infrastructure Grant from OC&W and the Van Baaren Foundation.
You will establish and maintain relationships with partners, musicians, speakers, theater producers, and others to work together to create a great program.
You will also keep departments such as facilities, collection management, curators, the gift shop and admissions, the museum café, and events informed and involved at every stage to ensure that the evening is organized down to the last detail. You will do all of this within the schedule and budget.
Of course, you’ll also provide input to your colleagues in marketing and communications so they can effectively promote Centraal Laat through channels such as social media, the website, and the external newsletter. When necessary, you’ll assist with photo and video shoots to further help promote Centraal Laat.
Terms of employment in accordance with the Museum Collective Bargaining Agreement; salary: scale 7. Museum Collective Bargaining Agreement (pay grade depends on education and experience: hourly wage ranging from a minimum of €17.14 to a maximum of €21.46 gross); pension is administered by the ABP.
