Junior Education Assistant
Cultuurhuis Wherelant in Purmerend offers workshops and classes in the visual arts, photography, design, theater, and dance seven days a week. workshops and courses in visual arts, photography, design, theater, and dance. For beginners to advanced students, young and old, with or without disabilities. Through our programs and projects in education (on-site) and for special groups, we ensure that everyone can participate in art and culture.
Due to growing interest and demand from schools, we are urgently seeking a:
Junior Education Assistant (24 hours)
What you'll be doing:
- Under the supervision of the Head of the Education Department, you will be responsible for planning and organizing arts education in elementary schools in Purmerend and the surrounding area. This primarily involves arts education in the field of visual arts.
- You will organize and supervise before- and after-school workshops at elementary schools.
- You will play an active role in developing educational activities and projects, often in collaboration with art teachers, schools, the local government, and other cultural institutions.
- You play a key role in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of projects. You also coordinate schedules, perform administrative tasks, and handle matters such as supplies and classrooms.
We're looking for you:
- You have a bachelor's degree in a creative field or a CMV diploma.
- You believe that arts and cultural education in schools is extremely important and/or would like to learn more about it.
- You have experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- You enjoy working as part of a team, but you’re also capable of working independently.
- Ideally, you live in Purmerend, the Waterland region, or Amsterdam.
We offer you:
- A fun, challenging position in a small organization. Cultuurhuis Wherelant employs 11 full-time staff members and approximately 70 freelance instructors.
- A 12-month employment contract. Subject to satisfactory performance, there is the possibility of an extension or a permanent employment contract.
- Salary in accordance with Scale 8 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Arts Education
