Junior Organizational Design Consultant

31–38.75 hours per week | Utrecht | hybrid | Future of work and organizations | €4,000 to €5,500 | Master’s degree

What you will be doing

In this role, you will help a wide range of organizations (re)design their organizational structure. You will develop and implement blueprints that align with strategic goals and changing circumstances. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing and evaluating existing organizational structures
• Improving and redesigning organizations and organizational charts
• Conducting interviews and analyzing documents
• Facilitating workshops and work sessions
• Developing design proposals and discussing them with the client
• Developing and implementing implementation plans

You’ll work closely with colleagues on your team as well as with experts from other consulting groups within Berenschot. Together, you’ll develop practical solutions that actually drive change. Examples include restructuring an energy company to better align with a new strategy or designing a future-proof organizational model for a healthcare institution.

You will be joining the Organizational Design team, which is part of the Future of Work and Organizations consulting group. Within the team—and at Berenschot as a whole—we collaborate in an informal atmosphere, and we care about each other, professional development, and work-life balance.

The team, consisting of 14 members, has a clear vision of organizational design (collaborative design), combines in-depth knowledge of organizational structure with the latest scientific insights, and is actively involved in European networks such as theEuropean Organisation Design Forum (EODF). We support our clients in areas such as agility, self-organization, and task-oriented work.

At Berenschot, we take a multidisciplinary approach, which means we work closely with teams such as Strategy & Operations, Team Development, Leadership & Change, and Labor Market & People. Examples of such projects include:

• Translating a new long-term strategy into an appropriate organizational structure.
  
• Designing an organizational structure that facilitates a complex merger.
  
• Assessing the impact of changing laws and regulations on organizations and structuring the organizational framework.
  

Here's what to bring

You are an experienced consultant with:

• One to three years of relevant work experience following completion of a college degree.
• Demonstrable experience at a management consulting firm or as an internal consultant at a large organization.
• Knowledge of organizational design and restructuring processes.
• Experience facilitating work sessions and group processes.
• Strong analytical and communication skills. You recognize opportunities to secure new business and know how to get others excited about working together.
• Team-oriented work ethic: Your contribution to the success of the team and the company is our top priority.
• Excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written
• A strong drive and a desire to get right to work!

Here's what the application process looks like
