We are looking for an editor for our engagement team who will work closely with the EenVandaag audience. The team serves as the link between the audience and the rest of the editorial staff. As an engagement editor, you will interact with the audience in various ways on a daily basis and translate their feedback into concrete topics that make an impact.
EenVandaag is AVROTROS’s current affairs program. We help make sense of the news—on TV, radio, and online. We analyze news developments in a clear, relatable way. EenVandaag features not only experts but also people directly affected by the news. Topics at the heart of society. The editorial team is a motivated group of people dedicated to accessible journalism. At AVROTROS, we make culture and justice accessible to a broad audience. The atmosphere is informal.
At AVROTROS, we believe in the power of diversity and inclusion. That is why we warmly invite candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply. We value the differences between people and want to build a team that reflects the society in which we operate. We’ll be honest: we’re not there yet. If that’s okay with you and you’re willing to work with us to get there, we’re very open to that.
As an interactive editor, you’ll be part of the EenVandaag interactive team. There are various roles within the team. Your work will primarily involve engaging with the audience. You’re open to interaction and can turn audience feedback into journalistic stories—stories created by others with your input, or stories you create yourself.
What’s important to us is that you’re a good listener and have strong communication skills—both with our audience and your colleagues. You’ll be working closely with reporters and editors who primarily work in radio, television, and online media. The team has been around for a few years now, but is still evolving. That’s why you’ll have the opportunity to contribute ideas on how we can best achieve our goals. You’ll get the chance to share your skills and experiences and grow in an inclusive and respectful environment.
