We are currently seeking: Content Specialist (0.6–0.8 FTE / 22.5–30 hours)
As a policy officer, you will be part of the Climate Affairs team. You will work on the ING case alongside your team and our attorneys. You will play a crucial role in both legal and strategic matters.
What will you be doing?
Research and Consulting
- Conduct research for various projects, particularly those related to climate issues (e.g., legislative developments).
- Provide legal advice to colleagues on research proposals and campaign plans.
- Monitoring legal requirements during investigations of companies and the development of related policies.
Legal support
- Contribute to and provide feedback on legal documents.
- Actively contribute to the implementation of regulations, such as the CSDDD.
- Provide guidance on access to justice, such as through the WAMCA.
Knowledge sharing and collaboration
- Sharing strategies and content within national and international working groups, such as the CSR platform.
- Networking with other civil society organizations to influence legislation and increase corporate accountability.
- Prepare and facilitate consultations with external attorneys and stakeholders.
Networking and Communication
- Widespread dissemination of our content and strategy on climate issues across various networks.
What are you bringing?
- You have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in the legal field or in the implementation of regulations.
- You have a strong grasp of the subject matter: you are familiar with laws, regulations, and standards governing business and human rights, such as the CSDDD, WAMCA, OECD Guidelines, and the UNGPs.
- You quickly grasp legal and political issues and have a solution-oriented mindset.
- You understand how best to represent your interests in a complex political environment.
- You will work closely with various teams and external partners to achieve our shared goals.
Who do you work with?
As a program officer, you will work in a multidisciplinary team that collaborates closely with external attorneys and national and international networks of civil society organizations (NGOs).

- A 6-month contract starting on February 17, 2025. Before the assignment ends, we’d be happy to explore other opportunities within the organization with you.
- A salary ranging from €3,470 to €5,338 for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience. At Milieudefensie, this is a 37.5-hour workweek.
