We ask large polluting companies to comply with the Paris Climate Agreement. If that doesn’t work, we sometimes file a lawsuit. Would you like to help make our climate lawsuits a success? Then we’re looking for you!
We are currently seeking: 2 policy officers for the climate campaign (0.8 FTE/30 hours)
What will you be doing?
- Supporting the campaigner and the lead investigator in a climate lawsuit.
- Ensuring the substantive basis for the climate campaign.
- Help develop a research agenda for the climate issues campaign and conduct (or commission) research.
- Analyze and concisely report on relevant company reports that are the focus of the climate lawsuit.
- Writing articles and briefs for various target audiences of the climate issues campaign.
- Provide information for and verify facts regarding the communication materials for the climate campaign.
What are you bringing?
- You have strong analytical skills and work with precision.
- You can adapt written content into campaign materials for different target audiences.
- Experience conducting independent research (or having it conducted).
- Experience writing short, concise texts.
- Excellent command of Dutch and English.
- Experience in running (public) campaigns, as well as knowledge of climate litigation and the fossil fuel and/or financial sectors, is a plus.
Who do you work with?
You will work alongside the campaigner, the lead researcher for climate litigation, communications staff, and press officers.
What do we offer?
- A contract for a period of 6 months.
- A salary ranging from €3,315 to €4,455 for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience. At Milieudefensie, this is a 37.5-hour workweek.
- A temporary gross allowance of €100 for full-time employees (this allowance will remain in effect until the new job and pay structure is implemented).
- Your own laptop that you take home with you every day, so you can work from home as well.
- The ability to arrange your work hours flexibly.
- The option to exchange (Christian) holidays for other holidays.
