The organization consists of four departments: Conservation, Engagement, Organization & Talent Development, and Finance & Operations. In this context, WWF-NL’s Science & Impact team within the Conservation department is seeking an Impact Measurement Senior Advisor (32–36 hours).
The Science and Impact (S&I) team is responsible for the following:
- Our strategy is based on the latest scientific research and evidence
- Impact is measured and reported
- The knowledge that is generated is synthesized and disseminated
- Reflecting, learning, and improving our strategies
- Robust design and quality assurance of programs
The Impact Measurement Senior Advisor will report to the Head of the Science and Impact Unit. They will develop a methodology to measure our impact across all 14 landscapes and create impact narratives to communicate our impact to a wide audience.
Roles and responsibilities
- Develop and maintain theories of change for each landscape;
- Develop a methodology to measure WWF-NL’s impact;
- Support the impact reporting process;
- Manage WWF-NL's progress and impact dashboard;
- Manage the consulting contracts required for the above;
- Liaise with other WWF teams and offices on broader initiatives and projects to collaborate and share knowledge.
Who are you?
The requirements for the Senior Advisor for Impact Measurement are:
- At least six years of experience working in the development, conservation, or related sectors, with a focus on developing and implementing monitoring, evaluation, and learning approaches, and conducting evidence-based analyses to understand and report on the programmatic and organizational impact on nature, climate, and/or people;
- Expertise in developing Theories of Change, logical frameworks, results chains, or other impact measurement methodologies;
- Experience in contribution analyses and other methods for analyzing causality in evaluations;
- You are a team player and feel comfortable working with international colleagues;
- You are organized and have strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Educational background in a field such as international development, geography, political science, environmental economics, biological or ecological sciences, physical sciences, etc.;
- Proficiency in English.
Desired skills include:
- Experience in planning, monitoring, evaluation, and learning;
- Knowledge of program and project cycle frameworks in conservation and development;
- PhD in a related field;
- Proficiency in Dutch.

- An employment contract for 32–36 hours per week. Initially, a one-year fixed-term employment contract with a one-month probationary period will be offered;
- Salaries that are in line with the standard in the Dutch nonprofit sector; The minimum gross monthly salary for this role is 4,508 EUR and the maximum monthly salary is 5,821 EUR (based on a 40-hour workweek) (we determine salaries based on relevant experience, so please note that, depending on the salary we are able to offer, we may not be able to sponsor a highly skilled migrant permit for applicants over the age of 30 who do not meet the reduced salary requirement set by the IND);
- Employees receive a personal budget consisting of an 8% vacation allowance and a 2.08% flexible budget, and are entitled to 6 weeks of vacation per year (based on a 40-hour workweek);
- We encourage flexible work arrangements, the use of public transportation, and biking for work-related travel. Employees receive an NS Business Card for second-class travel to and from work;
- We also have a hybrid work model, so employees can alternate between working from home and from the office.
