First-Line IT Support Specialist

Where will you be working?

You will be working in the IT department. We are centrally organized and provide our services from our main location: Oudenoord. The team consists of experienced colleagues who each specialize in their own area within our IT services. Together with this team, we manage all the IT systems and resources required for art education at HKU.

What will you be doing?

• You receive reports and log them in our ticket system;
• You resolve issues on your own, or forward them to the appropriate colleague;
• You will assist colleagues with using our systems, such as MS Outlook and Nextcloud;
• You will occasionally assist with the installation and maintenance of workstations and peripheral equipment;
• You will help us identify ways to improve our support and processes;
• You will help create a friendly and professional IT service desk;

Based on your daily experiences as a support representative, you’ll have the opportunity to actively contribute ideas on how to streamline our processes and help create more structure so we can prevent issues and reduce the number of inquiries. Maintaining the help pages for the service desk will also be part of your role.

What are we looking for?

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with a focus on IT;
• Knowledge of or experience with Microsoft 365, Windows, and macOS;
• Experience with or familiarity with ticket systems (e.g., Topdesk or Jira) is a plus;
• You have a customer-focused, calm, and solution-oriented attitude;
• You have strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
• You work well with others and keep a clear overview, even when things get busy.

What do we offer?

For this position, we offer a salary in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement for higher professional education (CBA-HBO) as well as attractive employee benefits.

Salary and specific responsibilities within the above-mentioned duties depend on education and experience. The gross monthly salary for full-time employment ranges from a minimum of €2,848 to a maximum of €3,891 (scale 7 of the higher professional education collective bargaining agreement), excluding an 8% vacation allowance and a year-end bonus (8.3%).

We are offering a one-year contract, with the possibility of a permanent position, subject to satisfactory performance.
