WOMEN Inc. is an advocacy organization with approximately 28 employees that has been accelerating the empowerment of women in the Netherlands since 2005. We strive for a society with equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of gender or sex. Gender inequality is most pronounced in the areas of Finance, Work, Health, and Media. To bring about change in these areas, we conduct research, campaign among the public and in the political arena, share our knowledge, and organize meetings and workshops to expand opportunities for women. We do this in collaboration with our network of partners—ranging from national to local governments, businesses, organizations, and research institutions—to make a difference at all levels of society.
After 18 years, founder and Executive Director Jannet Vaessen will hand over the reins to Emma Lok, the current Director of Programs, effective in September. This marks the start of a new phase for the organization, in which professionalizing areas such as human resources policy is a top priority to support the growing organization. As an advisor to employers on inclusive employment practices (including diversity and inclusion), WOMEN Inc. also serves as a role model. For this reason, it has been decided to strengthen the HR function and, for the first time, grant it an autonomous position within the management team (previously, this role fell under the Head of Operations).
You will be responsible for preparing, developing, and implementing HR policies. You will evaluate the policies developed and make recommendations for improvement. You will serve as a sounding board for the executive team and managers, providing them with both solicited and unsolicited advice and support. Furthermore, you will serve as the internal and external point of contact for all matters related to human resources. In this role, you will play a key role in identifying current issues within the organization and translating them into concrete actions and plans. For matters such as personnel administration, employee files, and other operational HR tasks, you will be supported by an administrative assistant.
